Young Eagles

Young Eagles is a program launched in 1992 by EAA.  The program's goal was to take one million children in airplane rides before the hundredth anniversary of the Wright brothers first flight. The program was successful due to the kindness and generosity of thousands of EAA members.  To date the program has given flights to over 1.3 million children.

EAA Chapter 20 is proud to be part of the Young Eagles program.  EAA Chapter 20 hosts Young Eagles flights every third Saturday at the San Carlos Airport.  Young Eagles is open to children between the ages of 8 and 17.  To get your Young Eagles flight, come to the rear parking lot at Izzy's Restaurant adjacent the airfield on the third Saturday of the month (weather permitting).  You will need to fill out a short registration form that requires a legal guardian's signature.  Your flight will be between 15 and 20 minutes around the Bay Area.  During your flight, you may be able to see the San Francisco Bay, Crystal Springs Reservoir, or even your house. After your flight, you will be registered in the worlds largest logbook containing over 1.3 million entries.
