This covers 95% of Young Eagles (YE) questions but please do follow up by email if you have a specific question that is not covered here and a volunteer will get back to you as our availability allows - thanks for your patience! EAA Young Eagle Rallies:
Registration opens at 8am on the first day of each event month on the EAA portal:https://eaachapters.org/ (eg: registrations for an event on Saturday 20th April would open 8am on the 1st April)
Registration AND waitlists always fill up fast
If you miss the registration opening, check the portal again throughout the month. If we get cancellations or more pilots, we are then able to open the rally to more Young Eagles, so it's worth checking back directly on theEAA portal, particularly in the week leading up to an event!
Our events are subject to volunteer pilot availability, weather and safety checks so we ask that you remain flexible with changing conditions and that your own RSVP is updated because we aim for 100% Young Eagle attendance.
Groups and special accommodations We want every child to enjoy their first flight in a small plane and to make it safe and enjoyable for everyone. Email us directly before you register, so we can make appropriate arrangements if:
Your Young Eagle has health conditions or impairments, so that we can prepare accommodations appropriately
You are a social worker wanting to arrange advance waiver paperwork for foster youth in your care
You have a group larger than four Young Eagles so that we can accommodate that dynamic
Volunteering, Resources and Donating to EAA Chapter 20 EAA Chapter 20 activities are driven completely by volunteer efforts and we are always looking for patient, kind and enthusiastic people to contribute to our local aviation community.
