IMC Club is a nationally-chartered organization under the sponsorship of EAA, and at San Carlos is sponsored jointly by EAA Chapter 20 and San Carlos Flight Center.
The mission of IMC Club is to promote instrument flying, proficiency, and safety. It strives to create a community of pilots who gather regularly to share information, provide recognition, foster communications, promote safety, and build proficiency in instrument flying. National IMC Club chapters host monthly meetings in which pilots of every background can meet, share knowledge, and share experience.
IMC Club SQL meets the second Monday of each month at 7:00 pm. Pending the resumption of in-person meetings at the San Carlos Airport, we meet virtually via Zoom, a meeting and conferencing application. Each meeting features several topics of the month, including an IFR scenario where a pilot experiences concern, confusion, or a significant decision. The outcome is not determined, and participants are invited to consider how they would deal with the situation. We also host guest speakers who present a topic for group discussion.
IMC Club SQL attendance qualifies for FAA WINGS knowledge credit.
