YOUNG EAGLES CANCELLED UNTILL FURTHER NOTICE:
The County of San Mateo has declared a local health emergency due to the coronavirus (COVID-19). As a result, the county health officer has asked that all nonessential events be cancelled until further notice.
EAA Chapter 20 hosts Young Eagles events—free flights for kids ages 8 to 17—at the San Carlos airport typically on the third Saturday of the month (weather permitting) except for July and December. Visit YoungEaglesDay.org to register. Check-in starts at 9:30 am. Flights are from 10 am to noon.
Young Eagles is an EAA program that gives youths an opportunity to experience their first flight in a general aviation airplane. Its sole mission is to introduce kids to the world of aviation. More than 2.2 million young people have participated in this program, which is offered free of charge with costs covered by EAA volunteers.
All donations to Young Eagles and to Chapter 20 ("donate" button below) support scholarships for Young Eagles ages 12 to 18 to attend EAA Air Academy.
